For our beautiful hand-woven products made from elephant grass, we work very closely with Atampoka Crafts, a group of weavers from Bolgatanga and the surrounding local communities, made up of family and friends.
Weaving in the form of baskets, bags or other products is an important means of securing the livelihoods of these communities.
The manufacturing of the products is a complex process and requires a lot of experience and skill. It starts with the processing of the elephant grass, which is grown locally. The blades of grass are rolled by hand and given the necessary structure for further processing. If desired, the blades of grass are then dyed and woven into the final product. Depending on the product, the production can be very time-consuming.
